Wide openings, thin frames, and the patio becomes part of the room.
An aluminum sliding door system replaces a wall with glass. Large panels glide on a track and stack behind each other, so a living room, kitchen or primary suite opens directly to the patio or the pool. With slim aluminum frames, the view is mostly glass, not frame.
Aluminum is the right material for large sliding systems. It is strong enough to support big glass panels with thin profiles, and thermally broken frames help keep Texas heat on the outside of the house. It suits modern and transitional homes, and it pairs well with iron entry doors on the same project.
Blackline designs each sliding system around the opening: how many panels, which way they stack and whether they tuck into a pocket in the wall. Our crews install the track and the panels so the doors glide smoothly and seal properly against wind and rain.

Stacking, pocket and corner systems.
The layout depends on the opening, the wall and how you want the room to open.
Two-panel sliders
One fixed and one sliding panel for standard patio openings, with slimmer frames than typical sliders.
Multi-slide stacking
3 panel and 4 panel sliding patio doors, or more, that stack behind each other to open most of the wall.
Pocket systems
Panels slide into a pocket inside the wall so the opening disappears completely.
Corner openings
Two walls meeting at a corner with no post, for a fully open indoor-outdoor corner.
Frames, glass and track.
Frame
Slim-profile, thermally broken aluminum frames that keep the view clear and help with heat.
Glass
Large insulated glass panels with Low-E options for sun-facing walls.
Track & rollers
Heavy-duty track and rollers sized to panel weight so large doors glide easily.
Threshold
Standard or flush threshold options depending on drainage and exposure.
Finish
Black as standard, with other colors available to match windows and trim.
Installation
Installed by Blackline crews in new construction and in remodels that widen existing openings.

Questions about aluminum sliding doors.
How wide can an aluminum sliding door system be?
Multi-slide systems can cover very wide openings by adding panels. The practical width depends on the wall, the structure and the stacking layout. We confirm it on shop drawings.
Sliding or folding doors: which is better?
Sliding doors keep large panels of glass and stack behind each other; folding doors fold into a compact stack to one side and open more of the wall. Sliders have fewer frame lines; bifolds open wider. We help you choose per opening.
Are aluminum sliding doors energy efficient?
With thermally broken frames and Low-E insulated glass, aluminum sliders perform well in the Texas climate while keeping slim sightlines.
Can you replace an old patio slider with a larger system?
Often, yes. Many remodels widen the existing opening. We review the structure first and tell you what is involved.
How much do aluminum sliding doors cost?
Price depends on the width, height, number of panels, glass and installation. Send your opening size for a free estimate.
